Q.      Why does Top Hat Home Services charge a monthly membership fee?

A.      The monthly membership fee allows us to be a club, offering our members the best services in a timely fashion. It allows us to hire the right staff and be there when you need us.

Q.      You say no project is too small.  Do you really mean it?

A.      Our business is to help you get things done.  All of us have projects that have been placed on the back burner because of lack of time or energy or skill.  This could mean hanging a mirror, repairing a door hinge or replacing a light bulb that is 10 feet off the ground.  Our job is to help you shorten your to-do list, no matter what the project.  All you have to do is ask.

Q.      Why would I use Top Hat for waiting services?

A.      Time is an important commodity and often the greatest constraint on getting things done.   Top Hat provides our clients peace of mind because our employees are bonded and we treat your home as if it was ours.  Based on your instructions, we can ensure that work being done is done to your specifications.  No more worrying what the repairman really did and how long it took him.  We are your advocate.

Q.      When do you go to outside contractors for help?

A.      We always evaluate every job first and let you know what is required and what we can do.  If we can’t do it we will tell you right away and work with you to find the best people who can.  We don’t pretend to be licensed electricians or plumbers and we know from years of experience when they are the appropriate people to call in.

Q.      How do you help in finding unusual or hard to find products or services?

A.      For over 25 years we have been building a network of resources to find products and services it would take you days to find.  We have become experts at using all available resources to shorten the search effort.  But most importantly, we do the research, not you.

Q.      I have had a hard time finding the right home insurance coverage for my Townhouse.  Can you help?

A.      Yes, Top Hat has alliances with insurance brokers who specialize in providing insurance to Townhouse Owners.

Q.      Your brochures say that you can even help with home electronics installation and training on some of the newer technologies.  What are your limits?

A.      We like to refer to ourselves as geeks when it comes to technology and have spent many years being the type of people who are the first to try many new gadgets.  We also recognize that we have limitations however and know when to recommend others who are more knowledgeable than ourselves. 

Q.      I’m going away for a week in the Hamptons (or the weekend) or Florida for a month, how can you help me?

A.      We will check your home while your away to make sure there are no mechanical or physical issues.  We can even be your representative to respond when the alarm company receives an alert that the boiler isn’t working or a window is broken.   Because we know how to deal with your service providers and have a list of our own, we will make sure the situation within our control is resolved.  By having us on the job, you will have a local resource available to take care of any situation that arises.  

Q.      How do I recognize a Top Hat Home Services representative?

A.      All Top Hat representatives, consultants and contractors will possess Top Hat Home Services Photo ID’s.  Most will also be wearing Top Hat Uniforms.
